Video Transcript:

If you’ve ever gotten frustrated with going through security at an airport, and then you know, trying to find your gate and going, and maybe buying that $10 water or that at $12 a day old sandwich, then, then this video is going to be for you. Because today I’m going to share with you how you can get access to airport lounges. We’re talking free food, free drinks, free wifi, comfortable chairs, sometimes even showers. We’re going to dive into the details later, but this is a, this is going to be a video for anybody. Who’s always wondered what it’s like to be on the other side of that exclusive club. So you’re not going to want to miss this.

So you heard right airport lounges. We have one here in my hometown. You go through security and right on the other side, are these amazing like frosted glass doors. And if you know how to walk in, those doors will slide right out, open for you. You got the buffet, the bar, a little like little like quiet area. Even if you bring in the kids like a little play area and, and everything in there is complimentary. And we have these passes and I’m going to share with you how we have them. And it just totally changed the way we, we travel. We don’t, we don’t stress anymore. We, we, if we get to the airport early, we go to the lounge and it’s, it’s a game changer. It’s, it’s something that even with a family, even with kids, if you’ve got kids, it’s something that you can kind of provide for everyone.

And to be honest with you, getting access is a lot easier than you think. I’m going to talk to you today about a three specific credit cards that are going to get you lounge access. And hopefully one of them kind of fits with your lifestyle and with your spending habits. But also I’m going to talk to you about day passes and even a little trick to get in for free. If you just wanted to kind of see what it’s like, but real quick, before we dive in, don’t forget to drop a, like, hit that little thumbs up button down below. It really helps with that YouTube algorithm. It spreads the word about these credit card videos. The more enthusiasts like man, you, I really appreciate it. So thanks. So the first card I’m going to talk about, I have in my wallet, I keep it there at all times, and that is going to be the chase Sapphire reserve.

You see the Sapphire reserve card is a travel credit card. It’s going to give you points for spending on food. It’s going to give you points for spending on travel. And it has a few travel perks, like, like free pre TSA or global entry. But one of the other perks that it provides is priority pass lounge access. You see, after you get this card, you can activate your priority, pass lounge access, and that’s going to get you and a guest into these lounges. There are like over a thousand lounges worldwide, and believe it or not, if you never even heard about priority pass lounges this is like a network that is separate from the credit card. So, so specifically the credit card is giving you this priority, pass lounge access. It’s like a perk on top of all the other perks. The reason I love this specific card also is they give you like a $300 travel like reimbursement.

Every single year, there is like a hefty annual fee and that annual fee recently went up. So I think it’s at five 50 as of a recording of this video. But if you take advantage of the lounge access a few times, it’s well worth it. In my opinion. Now this is one of Chase’s premium cards in the sense that you’re going to need like an excellent credit score, a one of about seven 20 or higher. And of course the five and 24 rule comes into play. So make sure you know, how many chase cards you’ve opened in the past 24 months. Now the next card on my list is one that I do not have, but I am just waiting to get for when I’m starting to travel maybe to the west coast more or specifically Las Vegas. And that is the American express platinum card.

You see the platinum card gives you access to American Express’s global lounge network, and there’s like 1300 lounges. It’s not just priority pass. They have their own Centurion lounges. There’s going to be some other lounge networks mixed in there too. I’ll get into those in a second. So going back to me not having this card, the reason I’m holding off is because these Centurion lounges are incredible. I think there’s one that just opened in New York and they have like a S like a hidden bookcase speakeasy. These things are insane, and I can’t wait to check them out, but I am a huge fan of the Southwest companion pass and being here in upstate New York, we don’t have a lot of direct flights like with Delta or other airlines. So we’re always having to go to some sort of hub. So keeping that in mind, I haven’t been to one of the airports that have a Centurion lounge in a while, but I did just mention a Delta.

There’s also an escape lounge. That’s a network as well. So if you know that you are in an area that has century lounges Delta, or these escape lounges, then you’re going to want to take advantage of a card like this. There are a ton of perks. We’re talking like Uber credits. There’s some travel credits. Like I mentioned, with a Sapphire reserve card and a bunch of other ones I’m not going to get into. I think as savvy just did a video on this card and you should go check out his video because he kind of goes through the pros and the cons of, of whether or not it’s actually worth it. Now, what I mean by worth it, as that there is currently a $695 annual fee for this card. So if you know, you’re going to take advantage of these perks, specifically, the airport lounge access, then I think it’s going to be well worth it.

But for a guy like me, who is in traveling to airports that have access to these specific lounges, I’m just going to wait until I know I’m going to have a different kind of year of travel. Now let’s move on to a really interesting car that often gets overlooked for airport lounge access. And that is the Hilton surpass card. The reason I say it gets overlooked is because it doesn’t give you like unlimited complimentary access to a lounge network, like the priority pass lounges. But what it does is it gives you 10 passes every single year. So this is really great for someone who doesn’t travel that often, or maybe you do travel, but the airports you go to don’t have lounges kind of like I mentioned before, so let’s say you’ve got two kids and you’re going to take like one or two vacations a year.

This might be perfect because you could check all four people into the lounge when you are taken off. And then on the way back check all four people. And again, if that’s one of your only trips for the year, then you just used up like eight passes or maybe the kids are going to be free, honestly. But anyway, you’re using up most of the passes and it’s working out perfectly without you having to pay like a five or $600 annual fee. Now they don’t let you off the hook completely. There was a $95 annual fee, but you can kind of see how it’s like a really nice card for just dipping your toe in the water. I think once you get this card, you are going to upgrade to one of the other two that I mentioned, the chase Sapphire reserved, or the Amex platinum, because you’re just going to want that unlimited access rather than like worrying how many passes you have left.

Of course, this car gets you some Hilton status at a ton of points when you use it for everyday spending. And I should’ve said it before, but all the cards have like amazing sign on or welcome offers, but you got to kind of see which ones are being offered when you’re signing up. I’ll give you a for example, right now, there’s currently an amazing chase Sapphire preferred signup bonus. It might be a good idea to get that and bank all those points and then maybe use the surpass card for a year. And then you can go and upgrade to the Sapphire reserve after you’ve gotten all those points, just a few strategies and things like that to keep in mind. Now, I did say that there was other ways besides credit cards. So let’s dive into those right now. Let’s say you get to your gate and there’s going to be a, a lay over that.

You just know the weather’s bad. They might delay it like three hours, four hours, while you can actually purchase a day pass to a lot of these lounges. Now that day pass code range, anywhere between like $25 and $99 and some lounges, they don’t even allow you in. But just so you know, if you are stuck, you could kind of shop around and, and see which ones are providing day passes. You know, capacity might be limited. And then maybe you want to give it a shot. Now I’m smiling here because be careful when you give them a, I think one time we were flying United and I was trying to maybe see what an American airlines lounge look like. And so we went and got a day pass there instead of the day pass for United and everybody and their, and their grandmother, brother and sister was in this American airlines lounge.

And I was shocked to find out that, like, they had some like free nachos, but other, almost everything else you like had to pay for. And I was just like, okay, well, never buying a day pass to one of these lounges again. And so I should’ve just stuck with United anyway. It is fun to try them all. So, I mean, I don’t regret it, but it w it I’ll never, I’ll never try to, I’m never purposely try to get into one of those lounges again. Now I did want to talk about like getting free passes and this is going to be really tough. It’s going to be rare, but certain airline employees are empowered to give out free passes. So if you were ever traveling with kids or the elderly, or just having like one heck of a day, you, you can ask if there’s any free passes that day.

And if you’re asking the right person and they’re in the right mood, they can grant you access. It would just depend on if they have the ability to actually do so. And if there’s availability like capacity. So, you know, like on a, on a slow day, as opposed to a busy day, anyway, just thought I’d mentioned that I’ve, I’ve, I’ve never asked or tried, or actually I did ask once for like the executive United level lounge and they said no, but but that’s okay. You know, I thought it was thought I was worth a, try a couple of key takeaways if you travel often and you just are no longer looking forward to the long lines paying for expensive airport food, or just kind of sitting by the gate in an uncomfortable chair, then taking advantage of airport. Lounges might be something that you want to look into.

We went over three different credit cards that are going to get you lounge access on varying levels for all three cards. There was an annual fee, but if you travel enough and you take advantage of the other perks and travel credits and the pre TSA or global entry, then, then you know, you’re going to walk into that airport, maybe getting out of like your free Uber ride. You know, basically skip the line with pre TSA or clear didn’t even get into that and then walk yourself right into a lounge in a comfortable chair, free wifi, free drinks, free food. And you’re just going to relax. It’s going to be something you’re going to want to like take pictures and tell people about as opposed to just like, kind of like grit and bear it until you get onto your flight. If you’ve never experienced airport lounges, then maybe consider like buying a day pass specific airlines have their own day pass fees.

They can be a little steep, like 50 or $60, but depending on how long you have to spend there, and if you’re in the right lounge, then it might be worth it. However, I will say that there aren’t lounges in every airport, especially some of the smaller ones. So, you know, go ahead and just check and see if it’s something that’s going to be on your radar for the upcoming year. And then maybe you can try one of the strategies that I mentioned today, by the way I am releasing my first ebook. It’s all about how to get that coveted Southwest companion pass. It’s going to come out in a couple of months. So if you’re interested, it’s free sign up on my website for my free newsletter.
